Farewell Flowers
Hollow Meadows Flowers have been providing locally grown flowers for loving celebrations since 2010. We are most known for our wedding flowers grown on our Sheffield farm, on the edge of the Peak District. However, we have been providing the local community with farewell flowers for end of life tributes and funerals for many years. We work with families, friends and funeral directors
to provide a sustainable and personal remembrance flowers.
We’ve sketched some ideas for ways in which you can personally honour your own life or that of a loved one.
All our work takes a personal, sustainable approach and all our methods are compostable. We do not use floral foam or single use plastics making our tributes ideal for green burial sites and those that share our ethics.

'The term farewell flowers, seems to fit better with me than funeral flowers and I think probably covers the many different occasions people will get comfort from flowers after losing someone close to them, whether that's for a traditional funeral service, a celebration of life or to give someone through their darkest times of grief. It may seem a little over used the term “an honour and a privilege” in regards to providing this service but actually it is for me.
Early last year a lady I’d known most of my life along with her granddaughter got in touch. She'd been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was starting to make plans for her own funeral service. She wanted to use my flowers incorporating some from her own beautiful cottage garden too. When the time came to gather those beloved forget-me-nots and the rich toned hellebore from her little garden, whilst family gathered inside the little stone cottage, that was an honour.
Friends whose wedding flowers I grew, asking me to provide coffin arrangements when they sadly lost parents a few years later, that was an honour. People coming to me because I will openly talk about dying, their wishes, they in return put their trust in me to provide a unique, earth friendly floral tribute, is a privilege.'
